HELLO! ************************************************************************

Hello Space Combatants!

Please read this file all the way through! It has some helpful hints!

Thanks!
joshua

INSTALLATION ******************************************************************

Space Combat requires no installation. Just untar the archive to the
directory of your choosing.

RUNNING SPACE COMBAT **********************************************************

Space Combat is very easy to get running. cd into the directory in which
Space Combat is stored, and then run the binary.

$ cd Space-Combat140/
$ ./Space-Combat140

IMPORTANT: Space Combat will NOT run outside of its directory.

TROUBLESHOOTING ***************************************************************

Inevitably, there will be problems, as this is a beta.

If Space Combat complains that "It seems that you have moved X-Plane out of
the X-System folder!", what it is really trying to say is that it cannot
find the "Space Combat Resources" directory (or some critical files
therein). Make sure you are running Space Combat from its directory, and if
all else fails, reinstall it.

If Space Combat bails with "relocation errors", your system's libstdc++ is
too old. You will need to upgrade your distribution. Alternatively, you
might try emailing the Linux support address, and if we get enough requests,
we may build a binary against the old libstdc++.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT *************************************************************

The author of the Linux port has agreed to take technical support inquiries,
provided that they are properly formed. However, unfortunately the Linux
port author's time is limited, and he cannot make any guarantees as to
whether you will get a response.

PLEASE read the article at
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html before emailing with a
technical support question! QUESTIONS/BUG REPORTS THAT IGNORE THE GUIDELINES
IN SAID ARTICLE WILL BE ROUTED IMMEDIATELY TO /dev/null, DO NOT PASS GO, DO
NOT COLLECT $200!

EMAIL *************************************************************************

If you need help with Space Combat for Linux, please email
x-plane@joshuawise.com AFTER reading the section labeled "TECHNICAL
SUPPORT".
