Sometimes, I do things that don't neatly fall as projects, but are still interesting bits of content that I hope someone else might want to read. I have been trying to set it up such that I could actually write more regularly here, but we'll see how that goes. For no readily apparent reason, I also sometimes write on my weblog instead of here (maybe that's where I put more personal content?).
Here are some favorites and/or classics.
- June 2025 The Unreasonable Effectiveness of the Fourier Transform -- one of the better talks I have given
- August 2014 Reverse Engineering a NAND Flash Device Management Algorithm -- or, "recovering data from an SD card that I snapped in half"
- October 2013 A small list of C brainteasers
- October 2012 On Solving Hard Problems -- experiences of a bringup engineer
- February 2012 A near-miss data loss event -- or, how I accidentally paved over a machine
- January 2007 Kerberized NFSv4 HOWTO -- somewhat out of date, but may still help you with some of the common pitfalls
- December 2005 Defeating HP's Wireless Whitelist for Fun and Profit -- from many years ago
- May 2004 Donate Life -- why I'm listed as an organ donor, and why I hope you will choose to be too
Otherwise, here is truly everything that you'll find on this site, roughly sorted by date:
